Andrea Olver

What is her role?

Andrea is Amac’s Operations Manager. She manages all courses, Tutors and administration staff. Although she is primarily based at the Amac Head Office she regularly meets students when invigilating exams or assessing practical sessions. Andrea also is responsible for maintaining the high quality of Amac courses by working closely with our awarding bodies. She ensures all our venues meet rigorous health and safety requirements too.

What is her background?

Andrea has worked for Amac since 2008 following a 22 year career as a Training Programme Manager with HMRC. She has also worked as a self-employed Sports Therapist and Fitness Advisor and as a Physiotherapy technician at a hospital.

What does she think makes her job great?

Andrea loves the diversity of her job and the fact she gets to work with such a like-minded team. She knows everyone at Amac really cares about each student’s experience and her Tutors have immense passion for what they teach.

What does she think makes a successful Amac student?

Andrea thinks that one of the reasons Amac graduates are so employable is that they have taken responsibility for their own learning. Independent study, individual thought and identifying when to ask for advice/ help are key skills which are not always encouraged by other fitness training providers. She knows that her team go the extra mile for their students but believes the most successful students are not afraid to go the extra mile for themselves.
