8 reasons why you should use ropes in your training

rope

  1. Rope training is fun and adds variety to your training – tired of doing the same old things? Rope training adds variation and challenges your whole body. There are an almost limitless combination of exercises you can use with ropes including undulations, pulls and climbs.
  2. Rope training gives you an amazing whole body workout – both strength and endurance are worked as your whole body is engaged in the exercises. It is great for cardio and fat burning too.
  3. Rope training is simple – all you need is a rope and an anchor (such as a post, fence or tree). Anyone can use rope training to get results, whether complete beginner or seasoned athlete.
  4. Rope training can save you time – while spending hours in the gym is attractive to many, rope training can give you a whole body workout in a fraction of the time for those hard-pushed to free it up.
  5. Rope training can be incorporated into high intensity interval training (HIIT) – for those bursts of high-intensity effort, ropes are perfect. You can make rope training as brutal as you want if high-intensity is your goal.
  6. Ropes are portable – wind them up like a garden hose and take them round with you.
  7. Rope training is low impact – despite the hard physical work possible with rope training, the fluid motion is easy on the joints.
  8. Train outside – get out of the gym and into the sunshine (while we have it!) Just find an open space and a post or tree, and off you go.
