Further measures needed to combat childhood obesity

childhood obesityHealth leaders are calling for the government to take further measures in the bid to reduce childhood obesity rates. How best to achieve this is undefined, but, the general consensus is; obesity treatment services must be better coordinated to ensure care is consistent throughout England. Statistics have suggested children living in the poorer areas of England are almost twice as likely to be obese in comparison to those from more affluent areas. Many believe the best approach would be to prevent weight gain in the first place through the education of parents as well as the children themselves.
